The open lexicon

Every trick has a name. Every name has a history.

This is the data behind the reader: each technique with what it does, why it works, when the same construction is honest, and the names it has carried across traditions — from Aristotle's fallacy catalog to the Nyāyasūtra to al-Jurjānī to last decade's shared tasks. Open data, CC BY-SA 4.0, one technique per file, every claim cited.

The charter, in one line: these entries describe language, never speakers. A mark means "this construction is present," not "this person is manipulating" — every family below documents its honest use for exactly that reason. No entry detects lies; nothing here can. Read the charter ↗
